Why do I need special pads after giving birth?
Every woman bleeds for up to about 6 weeks after giving birth; this bleeding is called lochia. The lochia is usually (especially in the first few days) much heavier than the period. The absorbency and size of regular pads or period underwear are insufficient for this.
Why do we use organic cotton for our pads?
Many gynecologists, midwives and obstetricians recommend using 100% organic cotton products for intimate hygiene as they prevent skin irritation. Our hypoallergenic organic cotton helps prevent irritation, allergies and infections. The cotton is grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers.
How many postpartum pads do I need?
Moms recommend at least 2 packs for the first, usually much heavier bleeding in the early postpartum period (the first 10 days after birth). However, many women need 3-4 packs, as the lochia can last up to 6 weeks (the intensity of the bleeding decreases over time, so you can switch to normal pads or period underwear over time).
How strong is the absorbency of a postpartum pad?
One pad absorbs up to 173 ml of liquid. For comparison: normal pads absorb 50-100 ml.
