The closer the due date comes, the more exciting it becomes. The anticipation increases, but so does the fear that something could go wrong or you are prepared insufficiently. Therefore, it is helpful to think about the birth in advance and what wishes and ideas you have about the process and the time after the birth.
In the wish list, you write down your wishes and ideas for the birth. You can also write down your personal no-gos in it. The wish list is intended to help you go into the birth feeling strong and prepared. Download our wish list and fill it out directly with your midwife, doula, or another trusted person. You should also think about possible questions that could arise during the birth beforehand. For many expectant mothers, it is difficult to make decisions during the birth that they have not thought about beforehand:
Think about what the possible birth scenarios could look like for you, what would be helpful for you, what you don't want, and what is important to you if complications arise. Writing all of this down is not only empowering for you, but also helps your midwife in the delivery room or your companion. You can give the completed wish list - ideally discussed with your midwife before the birth - to your midwife in the delivery room or birth center when the time comes.
Do not plan your birth with expectations - because unfortunately, a birth is not always predictable. However, the wish list should help you to approach the birth calmly, clarify any questions that may arise in advance, and record your wishes during and after the birth.
In addition to the birth plan, the hospital bag is important for preparing for the birth. You should have packed the hospital bag at least four weeks before the due date. To ensure you don't forget anything, you can download our packing list directly and fill it out on your mobile phone. Our packing list not only lists which items and products you and your companion should bring to the birth, but also which questions you should deal with before the birth, e.g. whether you want to receive visitors immediately after the birth.
